MTNL Slashes Broadband Charges
By: IANS   |   Aug 14, 2008
Public sector telecom services provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) will slash its broadband charges by up to 50 percent, it announced Wednesday.

"This has been done to increase user base in the national capital. The reduced tariff plans will be available from Friday," A.K. Arora, MTNL's executive director for the Delhi region, told reporters.

The PSU also announced the launch of its mobile TV services, which will be available to all MTNL customers, both on Dolphin and Trump mobile services, who reside in Delhi and the National Capital Region.

Users can view 20 different channels and will be charged Rs. 99 per month to avail the service, Arora said.

I agree with you Jithin. MTNL really sucks as compared to BSNL. I would've loved to take BSNL's unlimited plan for Rs.750/- which costs nearly 4 times as much with MTNL. MTNL Mumbai needs to wake up and lower their prices, if they want to expand their user base.
