ECS—pioneer in motherboard designing and manufacturing—has launched a Do-It-yourself campaign along with Intel in three major engineering colleges each in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. The contests have started on the 19th Of September.
A "Who Can Build the Fastest Core 2 Duo PC" contest will be conducted at each college, on a regular college day and in close association of the college faculty. Student teams, selected by the college faculty after a brief qualifying test and comprising of three members per team, will assemble PCs within the stipulated contest times. The fastest team to assemble a Core 2 Duo PC will walk away with attractive prizes, including ECS dual core motherboards and Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors. There will be other attractive prizes for the runner ups and participating contestants, as well.
A random quiz contest, on PC technology related subjects, is designed to keep the non-contestants engaged during the assembly contest and will enable students to learn, in a fun-oriented environment, the latest developments in PC technologies and products. The event will also witness the presence of senior ECS and Intel officials, who along with the College faculty will give away prizes to the winners at the end of the program.
A relatively unknown brand among the likes of Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, ECS seems to have employed a rather innovative method to attraction attention of consumers and college youth.
