HP Launches New Range of Notebooks
By: Tech2.com News Staff   |   Sep 26, 2008
HP has launched a brand new series of trendy Compaq notebooks aimed at those who would want access to features from powerpoint presentations to multimedia entertainment.

The latest Compaq series features a backlit keyboard, finger print reader, HDMI 1.3, a built in TV tuner card, Blu-ray drive and an infra red remote control.

"This astounding product is a result of HP's extensive research, focusing on user preferences amongst the youth. Keeping in mind the priorities of today's young generation, HP has factored in features like the flush glass finish and the 3D drive guard. A unique blend of looks and durability, the new range is both attractive and sturdy. Now, the generation next can not only enjoy the multimedia experience but flaunt their notebook with a oodles of style", said Rajiev Grover, Director - Consumer Products, Personal Systems Group, Hewlett-Packard India.

The new Compaq notebooks are priced in the range of Rs. 26,990 to Rs. 48,990.

Have checked the specs of these "NEW" notebooks on HP's site. One still has a Pentium Dual Core - a PENTIUM. Some New notebook. HP's offerings in India are utter crap. Sony is anyday better with it's business notebooks line and Dell is unbeatable in the consumer notebooks range with it's Studio series.

I have recently purchased a HP dv2716 laptop, which has normal (non-backlit) keyboard, making it difficult to work during night travel. Any idea what would be the cost of the replacement backlit key board.
