Toshiba Recalls 340,000 Notebook Batteries
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Sep 19,2006

Sony’s battery problems just don’t seem to stop. The latest company to be hit with this problem is Toshiba who has said it will recall 340,000 batteries which are used in its Dynabook and Satellite series notebooks out of which 100,000 are sold in the United States. The batteries have been manufactured by Sony.

Toshiba has noted that this recall does not involve batteries catching fire but relates to the battery packs unexpectedly losing power under standard operating conditions. Toshiba also went on to say that the affected batteries were produced between March and May of 2006 and that for affected units it would offer free replacements.
