Sony to Tie up with Sharp
By: Siddharth Bhatia   |   Feb 26, 2008

That's right, the headline has no typo. In what seems to be breaking news, talks are on between Sony and Sharp, for an alliance by which Sharp will supply LCD panels to Sony, in a big way, according to Japanese press. So that means maybe Sony will ditch Samsung now.

Sharp anyways are making newer factories, and already have a state of the art 8th gen one running in Osaka, as covered by us in Sharps LCD Preview. Sony anyways has such a big name, that copious back end supply is of utmost importance. So will we see an Aquobravia now? I guess not, but definitely a strategic alliance is on the cards. We wonder what Samsung has to say about this.
