Sony Possibly Working on a PSP Phone
By: Shayne Rana   |   Jun 30, 2009

There’s been plenty of speculation for a really really long time now that Sony would eventually develop a PSP mobile handset. From rumors going around to being shot down every now and again, it seems like there’s some clarity on the situation according to a new report that’s out. At E3 this year, Sony unveiled their latest version of the PSP handheld gaming device they’re calling the PSP Go. According to reports, Nikkei, which just happens to a rather large media company from Japan, has news that Sony amalgamating their handheld gaming device with a mobile phone is true.

Mockup

Although the source is quite reliable, they haven’t really confirmed the information but have mentioned that Sony intends to compete with the iPhone and its gaming development. Of course this could also just mean they intend to develop a new mobile handset with better gaming functionality for motion gaming and then again I’d personally like to believe there’s a PSP Mobile in the works.

Nope when they released Yari and Aino in the market, then one of the officials made it clear that they are not interested in developing PSP brand any further for phone functionality. That's the primary cause for making gaming phones like Yari and Aino

I think gaming fans are already satisfied with a handheld gaming console. Actually some people might find it awesome, some might not. At least I find it cool. *Ring Ring*, pause the game, pick the phone, chatter,or even *speak speak* while playing. cooool.... But maybe while merging a phone and a gaming console they might lose some features of either. I mean it should'nt end up like the nokia n-gage... Besides it might end up being very expensive. Puh-lease no comparisons with the i-phone....
And @Mukul Sharma, don't comment if u wanna take potshots at tech2 k, if you get all your info on ENGADGET stay there k..... At least i feel tech 2's the best indian gaming site....
