Vodafone to Sell iPhone in India
By: Tech2.com News Staff   |   May 06, 2008
Vodafone has confirmed that it will indeed be selling the iPhone in India, but hasn't mentioned when though.

The telcom giant signed a deal with ten countries including India. Australia, The Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will later this year be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.

There is no indication of how much it will cost with Vodafone. The iPhone has been available in the grey market for some time now for Rs. 20,000 onwards depending on the model (4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB).

We'll let you know more as soon as we know.

This may be great news , but like Sourabh says it has plenty of negative aspects as well. For Example, in Iphone, if you are browsing the internet using Edge, anyone calling you will not be able to reach you. Also , both Ipod and Iphone connect through Itunes. Even though we can add music like Mp3s it is curious that while China has an Itunes Store, we at India Still do not have it
