Half-Life 2: The Orange Box

Portal
Prey had some pretty trippy gameplay mechanics featured in it, that allowed you to walk on walls and through portals while altering the gravity field around you, allowing you to shoot some bad guys from what appeared to be a ceiling to them and a ground to you, or is it the ground to them and the ceiling to you…bah! I just confused myself. Well if you’re confused too, wait till you check out Portal; simply put, this is a whole game based on those trippy-assed portal mechanics similar to Prey, only a gazillion times cooler. Imagine placing portals at your whim and fancy; with the way they’ve designed the portal system, the possibilities stretch to as far as your logic can. You can only have two portals at a time, one that stuff goes in through, and another that the stuff comes out from. Placing another portal gets rid of the other of the same kind. So basically, if you place two portals facing each other, you’ll be able to chase yourself endlessly!
Thanks to these mechanics, Valve’s created one of the craziest and most innovative puzzles game out there. But Portal isn’t a mindless game without a story – you play the role of a female protagonist who’s a test subject for this spankin' new technology. There’s nothing more revealed about this game, other than the fact that it’s gonna take place in the Half-Life universe. From what we’ve seen, this game is pretty promising, and we’re quite certain that it’ll rock.
