Graphics: (Nvidia 6150 Onboard Graphics Chipset)
Graphics form a vital part of a PC, and a number of you are sure to question our choice of onboard graphics. Here's our reason for choosing onboard graphics: The 6150 maybe an onboard graphics chipset, but, in terms of video output and graphics display it is an extremely good solution. It has full support for High-Def video (H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 HD-Video Playback formats), and is fast enough to play older 3d games such as Quake 3. The 6150 chip is also DX9 compatible, and this makes it compatible for Windows Vista. All this functionality is available for free and will help you save around Rs. 2,500.
Sound: Onboard5.1 channel HDA (Azalia)/AC97 Audio Controller
Onboard sound has come a long way from the rather muffled output that first generation chips used to provide. The chip on this motherboard is 5.1 capable and produces crystal clear sound. The fact that it is free makes it a great deal.
Lan: Nvidia Onboard 10/100/1000
This is the standard Gigabit onboard 10/100/1000 LAN that gives a maximum transfer speed of 1000 Mbps. It is fast enough to take care of your broadband internet (most users have a connection speed of 256 Kpbs or 512 kbps). Though Gigabit LAN is already present, most home networks are only capable of handling 100 Mbps speeds. Hence, you have the right firepower with Nvidia's 10/100/1000 Lan.

i read a few comments and personally feel many of you dont know what is a multimedia pc, try to run nfs: carbon on this the graphics will suck and so will the speed.
someone was asking for a pc for graphic designing in 60k budget that also branded dude check out the prices for silicon graphics, i am sure it is out of your budget.
now try and make your own pc assemble it... And do it with intel duo core it will cost around 30k for beginners and around 50-60k for graphic designers but it is going to rock,
the article is spending unnecessary money on speakers keyboard mouse and display i will spend max money on cpu motherboard ram and display cards think about who needs 2800 speakers if you can get 128mb pci express card

really liked the article and the configuration but when i started the process of buying 10 pcs (for my company) with the same configuration, i was told by rashi peripherals (asus distributor for india) that the board is outdated and not available to whole of india since last few months.
shocking !... It was also shocked. These people manipulate the market and technology according to their greed level as they are more keen on selling socket am2 processors.
i hope its not a joint effort of rashi & asus to vanish the boards from market. Does asus have any rivalry with nvidia. I think amd has, as they have recently take over ati. And amd is pushing asus not to make boards with nvidia chipset .. Techno-gossip ;-)
i wish life could have been a bit easier in india.

if you can make a separate subject under your pc's and laptops list, of the places/shops from where we can procure these components and that too original,it wll be a boon for a layman. As piracy is rampant among pc components,a layman cannot depend on computer assemblers these days. The list can be divided according to the different zones of the country. So that everybody from india can benefit.
thanks once again for such an exhaustive review
