An Interview With Matthew Jeffrey

One thing that’s one my mind… what is it about the Sims that makes people going crazy.. I mean the game is virtually on the top of every game chart even when you have stuff like WoW in that very same chart? What’s the secret over here?
The Sims is the biggest selling game of all time and justifiably so because it is great fun to play. Did you know that 69% of people who play the Sims are female? That's incredible because as an industry our aim is to break the geeky image of predominantly young men playing games and The Sims is the biggest game that makes women feel passionate about gaming.
Why is The Sims so successful? Well The Sims mirrors peoples lives and their everyday realities. People have always loved looking after things as is seen with young girls and their dolls as well as with the Tamagotchi and games like Nintendogs. What better way to look after something than a 'real person' in a mirror world of our own. World of Warcraft is a great game but you will not witness everyday reality in this game. However, people can associate with The Sims and live and develop 'human' characters in game. That is a key appeal.
What direction is the Fight Night franchise headed in? Can we expect a Fight Night Street in the future?
EA Chicago are an innovative, forward thinking development team and they’re constantly experimenting and driving creative new ideas, (as is seen in Fight Night and Def Jam Icon). Rest assured Kudo Tsunoda, (Executive Producer, EA Chicago), and his team are busy creatively coming up with new ideas to challenge game players the world over.
Thank you for your time.
